SWING SHIFT1400 - 2300Overview:Medical Stepdown is a unit that specializes in the care of acutely ill medical patients. We primarily focus on those suffering from respiratory failure and/or other general medical problems that are acutely ill.Patient population may include: Bipaps, High Flow Oxygen, Tracheostomies, and Ventilated Tracheostomies, Respiratory Failure, Gastrointestinal Bleeds, Alcohol Withdrawal, Drug Overdose, Severe Sepsis, End of Life CareThis unit requires excellent critical thinking skills and quick decision making skillsClose relationship with pulmonologistDue to the diverse nature this unit provides numerous educational opportunities for our coworkers.22 patient bed unitRN ratio 3-4 patients, with tech support24/7 Leadership supportCollaborate daily with Care Management team, PT and OT, dieticians and pharmacistsQualifications:Experience: 2 years' experience in patient care is required.Preferred Experience: Supervisor experience.Required Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing programLicensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.Other: One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses) OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization) S.T.A.B.L.E.
