Post-Anesthesia Care Unit

Full Time

Proposed Schedule

10:00am to 7:30pm- 4 days a week

***Strong Critical Care experience required.****

Post-Anesthesia Care Units (PACU) deliver services to multiple surgical specialties in a hospital-based facility. We are a high-energy unit which provides care for patients during the peri-operative process. We have an exceptional unit highlighted by teamwork and dedication.

We have a wide variety of patients, entailing a mix of inpatient and outpatient procedures. This diverse nature provides many educational opportunities for all coworkers. Our environment collaboratively engages process improvements for the betterment of our patients, co-workers, and community.

PACU has excellent teamwork in a diverse setting. There is a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care and procedures performed. Our schedule allows for a well-balanced family and work-life.

28 bed unit made up of patients having surgery requiring moderate and general anesthesia.
Variety of surgical procedures recovered including general surgery, orthopedics, neuro, cardiothoracic, vascular, bariatric, urology and more.
RN ratio 2:1 and 1:1 with patients requiring higher level of care to stabilize. Tech support available.
Monitoring of patient condition throughout sedation recovery.
Critical care experience preferred.
ACLS required with PALS completed prior to end of orientation.
Fast paced environment requiring excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills
Collaboration with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and other members of the patient care team.

Qualifications:

Education: Current RN license.
Licensure: Meets the criteria to be eligible for licensure in state of Missouri or currently licensed in the state of Missouri.

Certifications:-

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
