Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Hours (05:30 - 16:00) Experience: 1 Year Required License: Valid State License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Vents, IV Start, Telemetry Must-Have: Critical Care Experience, Epic Proficiency Description: PACU nurses are expected to work 4x10 hour shifts from Monday to Friday, 05:30-16:00. A 24-hour on-call duty every 6 weeks is required. Patient-nurse ratio is 1:2. The position allows first-time applicants. Weekend work is required as needed, depending on the on-call schedule. Nurses are expected to manage complicated postoperative patients, including handling multiple drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia. Experience in managing complex patients in a Level I Trauma Center or equivalent critical care experience is required. Nurses may need to handle patients in both pre-operative and post-operative phases. The job requires proficiency in using EPIC, a charting system. Orientation for this role includes 40 hours and special training modules. The facility seeks nurses who can adapt to both day and night rotations, though specific parking arrangements vary.
