seeking a Fiber Optics Engineer to join our team in the greater St.
Louis area in Berkeley, Missouri. This person will be responsible
for electrical and fiber optic component test and development. They
will support enterprise programs in the fabrication and testing of
fiber optic related interconnect systems. Position requires
patience with hands on delicate task work on fiber optic components
as well as general lab activities. The applicant will be required
to learn and perform at a high demand level in a critical
environment. Additional requirements include familiarity with
standard electrical/electronic and fiber optic lab equipment
(scopes, meters, microscopes, OTDRs, etc.) as well as the ability
to compile and prepare technical reports and documentation. The
applicant should possess a self-motivated attitude with attention

- Define requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts, and
processes used in fiber optic engineering
- Lead the production of specifications and documents for the
deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts, and
processes
- Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory
obligations
- Promote standardization across business activities
- Evaluate emerging technologies for potential application to
fiber optic needs
- Lead the development and qualification of new tools, equipment,
materials, parts, and processes
- Integrate new technologies as appropriate
- Conduct complex analysis to determine performance or reasons
for failures of tools, materials, parts, or processes
- Implement corrective and preventive actions
- Lead the design, development, and qualification of computer and
production systems
- Incorporate environmental health and safety, LEAN, and Quality
principles into materials and processes, research, design and
qualification, work procedures, and lab and office areasThis
position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will
be required to work onsite at one of the listed location
options.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S.
Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US
Citizenship.
- An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is
required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study
in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing
engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data
science, or computer science
- Experience working with Fiber Optics
- Strong knowledge of fiber optic assembly, integration, and
testing
- Familiarity with high-reliability harsh environment
applications
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skillsPreferred
Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Master's or higher degree in aerospace, material science,
metallurgical engineering, or mechanical engineering
- 1+ years of experience with Electro Optical, including fiber
optic sensors, systems, and components
- Active Security Clearance Typical Education/Experience:Level 3:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical
education from an accredited course of study in engineering,
computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor)
and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an
equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.
PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET
accreditation is the preferred, although not required,
accreditation standard.Level 4: Education/experience typically
acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited
course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics,
physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years'
related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical
education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work
experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA,
ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required,
accreditation standard.Relocation:This position offers relocation
