Early Childhood Special Education Teacher - Full-Time - Greater St. Louis
Hourly Range: $25.00 - $35.00

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Teacher to provide individualized instruction and support to young children (ages 3-5) with developmental delays and disabilities in a school in the St. Louis region. The ECSE Teacher will work collaboratively with families, therapists, and other educators to create a nurturing learning environment that fosters communication, motor, cognitive, and social-emotional development.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Instruction & Intervention:

  • Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and state early learning standards.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including play-based learning, visual supports, and assistive technology, to meet diverse student needs.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages engagement and growth.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.Assessment & Documentation:
    • Conduct ongoing assessments to track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
    • Maintain accurate records, including progress reports, IEP documentation, and required assessments.
    • Participate in IEP meetings to collaborate with families and the special education team on student goals and services.Collaboration & Communication:
      • Work closely with speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, behavior therapists, and paraprofessionals to support student development.
      • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates and strategies for home reinforcement.Compliance & Professional Development:
        • Ensure compliance with IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and state/federal special education regulations.
        • Stay up to date on best practices in early childhood education and special education through professional development opportunities.
        • Maintain a safe, positive, and structured learning environment.WHAT YOU WILL BRING
          • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Special Education.
          • Current Missouri teaching certification with an Early Childhood Special Education endorsement.
          • Experience working with young children with disabilities in a school or early intervention setting preferred.
          • Knowledge of IEP development, early childhood curriculum, and behavior management strategies.
          • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.WORK ENVIRONMENT
            • Ability to work in a classroom/preschool environment.
            • Frequent movement, bending, and interaction with young children.
            • May require lifting or assisting with mobility equipment.
